A sunny lunchtime on a roof terrace

After a morning walk in the sunshine around both Green Park and Hyde Park, my friends Daisy, Georgia and I decided that we deserved a reward, whilst running through the list of places we could quench our thirst with a glass of Pimms, inappropriately early in the day and preferably somewhere in the sun, we remembered Aqua, and headed over to their roof terrace to enjoy the sunshine, views and of course the cocktails.

Aqua is located off of Argyll Street, near to Oxford Circus in London, on the 5th floor. The venue boasts two delicious restaurants, Aqua Kyoto (Japanese) and Aqua Nueva (Spanish) as well as a central bar - Aqua Spirit. Both restaurants have their own roof terraces, again equipped with two other bars perfect for afternoon, pre or post dinner drinks whilst admiring the views over central London. The interior is sophisticated and chic and lends itself well to accommodate all most every occasion, whether it be a celebration or a quick lunch, the atmosphere is great.

On this occasion we decided to sit on the terrace off of Aqua Nueva, after walking down the dimly lit corridor towards a huge cast of a bull you reach the elegantly decorated Spanish restaurant, after ordering our drinks we went out onto the terrace to enjoy the London sun.

After a couple of rounds of Pimms we decided we should probably have something to eat. The food was delicious, we ordered a couple of dishes from the tapas menu including the incredible ham croquettes, which is my favourite dish on the menu.

I would highly recommend visiting Aqua London, whether its for lunchtime drinks on a sunny day, for dinner or before a night out, the service is great and the food, atmosphere and views even better.

  1. Love your blog! Keep up the good work. I just started one as well to document when I study abroad in London next semester. I'm definitely going to have to visit Hyde Park and Green Park.
